The Daily Download is BACK!

For those of you who have missed the daily download at Scrap Matters, it is back! Starting the end of this week! Here is the link to Scrap Matters to check out all the fun that we are having over there! :)
I will be heading to my parents home for the Thanksgiving Holiday. I hope all of you who celebrate Thanksgiving willl have a wonderful holiday season! I am very thankful for my family and my friends (both old and new). I'm thankful for the freedom to worship God and to be a Christian. I'm thankful for a house to live in, warm clothes, and a dependable car to get us where we need to go. But most importantly, I am thankful to the Lord, for dieing on the cross for my sins. So that someday, I can live with Him forever, in Heaven! If you don't know the Lord as your own personal Savior, I pray that you will come to know him on a personal level in some way. God can do mighty and powerful things. There are times where we don't understand things, but God's way is always best! I learned that this past week. We are planning a trip to Disney. Even with all their great specials right now (buy 4 nights, get 3 free), we don't qualify for a great rate because of our somewhat large family (6 people isn't huge!) However, I now know that God knew we couldn't stay there. The reservations for the stay have to be paid for by the end of Jan. All of our Disney money is coming from our tax refund, which we won't get until sometime in Feb. So even though I didn't understand why we couldn't stay at Disney property, it was totally clear in God's mind!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving Holiday, and if you don't celebrate, enjoy your weekend!

Budding Photographer

For the past few years, my husband and I have been doing some photography. It started with helping friends of ours shoot weddings. Since then, we have done weddings on our own, taken family portraits of friends and our own families. We do all of our daughters portraits too (it works better than taking them somewhere, since it's not a scheduled time). We've even taken Senior portraits.

We took some senior portraits of my husband's cousin last month! They turned out really great (at least I think so). She's a very natural and outdoorsy type person. She found a great location alongside a river and we got some fun shots (we don't live in her town, so she scouted out some locations for us).

I would love to expand and grow our little home run/ hobby type business. I'll be posting some photos from her photo shoot here in the next couple days. Let me know what you think? Do you see potential in our style to make us go farther, or is it the same old style as other people?

Disney Finds

This is my 2nd official blog entry! My vision for this blog is to make it about my digital scrapbooking, but also include anything Disney I may find in the digital world, and display our porfolio for our photography! Last weekend, we took my husband's cousin's senior portraits! They turned out wonderfully, and I hope she's just as happy with them. I hope to display at least a couple here one of these days.

Disney wise, I would love to have any of you join in at the challenge at NDISB. It is a Disney challenge, hosted by Brandie. Every month she gives us about 4 or 5 topics to chose from to help us complete those albums! It's been wonderful for me! I am getting so many layouts done because I have direction in doing them. I am not looking at our 7 disks from a one week vacation (that's a disk a day) and wondering where to start. It's decided for me.

Also, check out Scrap Matters. Britt of Britt-ish designs sells there and she has some beautiful "Disney" themed kits. There are many other talented designers there too. You can get lost in their store among all the wonderful designs!

Enjoy your weekend. I had a great time with 2 of my girls today. We made Banana Bread and walked to McDonald's to eat lunch. I'm off to work on a layout or 2!

Ooh-la-la

I just discovered Amy Sumrall's newest collaboration kit with Krystal Hartley. The kit is Ooh-la-la It is a really posh and princess kit filled with many things that can be used for a daydream to Paris or maybe even one of those latest shopping sprees. I can see so many possibilities for this kit that is has been added to my list of designs to call my own!
So make sure you run over to Sunshine Studio and pick yourself up a copy of this kit. You wont be sorry as this kit is filled with lots of goodies to make that next layout a masterpiece!
